NOAH – MOTIVE IN PREPARING THE ARK

Answer: The Greek word that is translated “fear” in Hebrews 11: 7 has the meaning of “godly fear,” as indicated in Hebrews 12: 28. Rotherham suggests that “filled with reverence” is a better translation. Rather than Noah being moved by fear in the ordinary sense, the Greek text indicates that he was piously disposed.
